Neurodivergence: questions to explore in an assessment
How can CBT informed support for neurodivergent adults be considered?
Neurodivergent people can have very different experiences of attention, sensory processing, energy, communication, routines and daily demands. A webpage cannot establish a diagnosis, explain an individual's needs or determine whether a particular approach is suitable. An individual assessment can consider what is happening now, health information, safety, support needs, context and preferences. Where appropriate, a clinician may discuss practical organisation, pacing, environments, relationships, self understanding and the possible role of adjustments. Any tool or between session reflection should be agreed individually and should not be treated as a self management prescription or a promise of a particular outcome. The Lyceum Clinic offers an initial conversation for adults considering CBT based support in West London or online. The clinic does not provide diagnostic assessments for ADHD or autism. Current availability, location arrangements and whether the service is appropriate for your needs should be checked directly. This does not commit you to a particular treatment plan, duration or outcome.
