Course-required placements for film, media and marketing students.
The Lyceum offers course-required student placements for film, media and marketing students. Placements are mostly remote, can include some days in West London and are fitted around the course. They last from 6 weeks to 12 months, as agreed through the institution's placement or learning agreement. Who can apply These placements are for students on a UK college or university course where a placement or industry period is a required, credit-bearing part of the course, and whose institution will issue a placement or learning agreement. We confirm this with the placements team before the placement starts. If a course does not require a placement, these roles are not open on an unpaid basis; paid creative roles may be advertised separately. Student Placement Documentary Filmmaker Plan and shoot short documentary pieces and interviews, including clinician-led talking-head sessions. The placement is hybrid: remote planning and editing with shoots in West London. It suits students on Film Production, Film and Television, Documentary Film, Media Production, Digital Film, Photography and Moving Image, and related college creative-media courses. The placement is unpaid because it is course-required; travel and agreed expenses are reimbursed, and kit is provided. Student Placement Video Editor Edit long-form YouTube pieces, vertical Shorts and LinkedIn video from interview and documentary footage. This is remote within the UK, with occasional West London collaboration. It suits students on Film Production, Post-Production, Media Production, Digital Media, Animation and VFX or Creative Media courses. The placement is unpaid because it is course-required; agreed expenses are reimbursed and software is provided where needed. Student Placement Social Media and Growth Own a weekly content calendar across LinkedIn and short-form platforms, turn one piece of work into several posts and clips, and report on what is working. This is remote within the UK, with occasional West London collaboration. It suits students on Marketing, Digital Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Media, Journalism, Business with Marketing or PR courses. The placement is unpaid because it is course-required and agreed expenses are reimbursed. Each placement has a named placement lead, two short check-ins each week, published work for a portfolio, a written reference and placement reports in the institution's format. Placement students do not access client information or film clients, and do not publish clinical content without the Clinical Director's approval. The Lyceum provides a signed placement agreement, named supervisor, placement handbook, employer's liability and professional indemnity cover, and mid-point and end-of-placement reports where required. To apply, email partnership@lyceumclinic.com with the placement in the subject line, your institution and course, the placement module and confirmation it is required, your placements tutor's contact, two or three work samples, and the placement questions. The Lyceum replies within five working days. The Lyceum Clinic Ltd welcomes applications from everyone. Tell us if you need adjustments at any stage.
